Tally-Ho Tackle Traders!

So the last two weeks we had couple guest appearances—a Mr. Cody Maki and the great Matt Justice throw down and share their personal experiences trading the Environmental Hedging System.

First and foremost boys, well done and well articulated! Cody’s contribution pertained to his experiences on trading to travel and traveling while trading and I do have to say fine taste choosing New Zealand as a honeymoon destination and the Lord of the Rings super park as one of the trip’s highlights. I couldn’t be more happy to see other Tackle members getting out into the world and using the financial markets to fund such their enterprise. Well played, Cody! Very inspirational stuff.

As for Matt, good job detailing system management and system philosophy my man. As co-creator of the system I had no doubt you would submit an excellent article. What I did not expect, however, was how good of a writer you are.

Now, as far I go… Well, I have been in golf heaven for the last couple weeks with some of my best friends on this planet at an annual tournament we all

play in. And yes, I am a golf fanatic. I started playing the game at the age of three, I played in college, and for a period of time I was a professional golf caddy. The sport holds a special place in my heart and is by far my favorite activity next to backpacking. But to combine the two together on one stage was a magical experience.

As of right now I am in England and I am happy to announce that my good friend, Ryan Gordon, will be joining me for my last 21 days in Europe. From the looks of it we will be in Greece come next week. As mentioned I have an opportunity to do some volunteer work there; that, and enjoy another beautiful country. The next montage video ought to be awesome!

But let’s talk markets now. The last couple week have been testing. For one, I haven’t had much time to manage my accounts or even pay much attention to them for that matter, thus I have been off the ball with my contingency trades (Short-Strangle). That said, I haven’t taken any memorable loses but I do have trades that are noticeably in the red. Fortunately nothing is “in-the-money”, essential support levels are holding and expiration is approaching. Let’s see what happens this week.

Robin Hoods:

AMD—Advanced Micro Dynamics

Naked Puts: Last Week AMD was a mover and for a second there it looked like it might bust through the $15 per share mark. However, it had a noticeable pull-back later in the week and is channeling at support. I am still bullish on the stock, but cautiously bullish.

FCX—Freeport McMorhan

Naked Puts: FCX is about as neutral as they come. A great candidate for a naked puts. News on the company is solid and copper prices are hanging in there.

X—United States Steel

Naked Puts: This puppy has been beat up a bit over the last couple weeks. It is currently sitting at short-term support and I am considering giving X a bit of a breather after my Oct options expire. She is becoming a bit to volatile for me and news is mixed.

GDX—Vaneck Vectors Gold Miners E.T.F.

Naked Puts: We had a nice bullish-retracement on gold over the last couple weeks and is now consolidating, potentially gearing up for another bullish move north. Wait for confirmation.

Targeted Stocks:

SPWR—Sun Power

Covered Call: Yep… If we were covered over the last couple weeks there was decent cashflow to be had. I am still bearish on SPWR and will be waiting for reversal confirmation.

FSLR—First Solar.

Covered Call: First Solar didn’t take as big of a beating as Sun Power but my approach still remains the same. I am covered and waiting for reversal confirmation.

TSLA—Tesla Motors.

Covered Call or Bull Put Spread: Per usual whenever this stock has a retracement it is a sizable one. That said, there is a lot of big announcements coming up for TSLA which could send the stock north. Oct 26 is a big day folks… Elon Musk is expecting to reveal and show case his driver-less, electric semi-truck—which has been described as a “game changer”. Stay tuned and wait for confirmation.

Cheers,

Bob Shannon
