Tackle Today: Network equals Net Worth

March 15, 2019

≈ Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. ≈

“See one, do one, teach one.”

Dr. Mark Greene, ER —

Networking is such a worn-out word especially during this last decade where we are witnessing the rise and demise of social media platforms. If everything is networking, nothing is networking.

Every time such word appears you can bet there’s a job hunting action plan going on somewhere in the conversation. Perhaps there is someone trying to climb the corporate ladder too.

Don’t know about you, dear readers, maybe that’s how my brain is wired, but I don’t see networking that way. Coming from a medical background, most of the times networking was a synonym for “diagnosis”. A good network of competent and reliable colleagues was the difference between life or death of a patient. No one is an encyclopedia. Sometimes, we would gather around a microscope with a blood smear sample containing some strange blood cells and discuss for about an hour what the hell was going on before pulling the trigger and report it to another colleague.

Trading is not that different. In a sense, network equals net worth. If you ever get the opportunity to attend one of our Scouting Reports meetings every Friday you will see that there isn’t one single Coach who can answer everything. It’s just impossible. Coaches ask Coaches all the time everything about every sector, commodity, currency or stock. No one is an encyclopedia.

Today is Friday Feature and we have Beth Salamanca with “My Who Part II”, where she talks about mentors, trading partners, colleagues, and community.

Go get a trading partner and actively participate in the Tackle community. Or risk being chased by this constant tornado of misinformation that ravages the whole internet space.

Chart of the Day

Gold Futures 2 weeks ago

This is the Gold Futures chart from 2 weeks ago, March 1st. This is how the precious metal closed the session that day. Right after the bell, we had our regular Scouting Reports meeting and the /GC chart was at the spotlight during the first half hour. What was going on? How to rank it for our students? All coaches at Tackle got into a healthy discussion on how to approach this chart and translate it to something actionable for our #TeamTackle members. No one is an encyclopedia.
