During this week’s podcast, Coach Matt, Tim, and Mark discussed the upcoming Presidential Election in the US and how the market may react if President Trump wins, Vice President Biden wins or if there is some type of contested outcome. The focus of traders this week will be on Corporate earnings, stimulus chatter, the technical charts, and the upcoming election. Whether the market has a strong reaction or not, we don’t know that yet, but as trader’s and investors it’s your job to assess risk, evaluate potential reward, determine probability (as best as you can) and then build a plan accordingly.
How are you trading this week in front of next Tuesday’s election? There are many appropriate answers to that question including ‘business as usual’ and the opposite ‘I’m moving to cash’. It is up to you to determine your trading plan based on your assessment of risk. But it is wise to build that plan outside of your own political leanings. It can be tough to remove politics from your investment thesis, but it is important to do so as best as you can.
