How to live in a world like this? How to live in a world we don’t understand?
This is where ƒ(X) enters the equation. If X is the world surrounding you, ƒ(X) is the matrix of potential returns and losses you develop around it. To be successful in the realm of finances, just like in every other aspect of life, ƒ(X) counts much more than X. Measuring and controlling the potential returns vis-à-vis the potential losses is much easier and feasible than trying to control everything.
Maybe you don’t understand the anatomy of a crisis, the intricacies of a market meltdown, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do nothing about it. Quite the contrary: Protect & Proft is the name of the game.
In a bull market, everyone is a genius. But what about bear markets? This is when the bull market geniuses swim naked. We don’t. We won’t.
