≈ The webinar is tonight! ≈
Traders,
The fifth perk of covered calls has particular relevance right now. Stock investors are seeing their positions melt in the face of the fiery fears surrounding the Covid-19 Omicron variant. Those lacking a knowledge of the options market have to simply grin and bear the pain. They’re powerless to reduce risk (aside from jumping ship) while the storm rages.
But such is not the case for those with the wit and will to deploy covered calls.
Abandoning long-term stock positions after stocks have fallen sharply is rarely a good idea, particularly if you own a diversified ETF with a history of recovering from every bear market. But just because you shouldn’t call it quits doesn’t mean you can’t reduce risk and play defense in the meantime.
This is where covered calls come in. As illustrated in previous messages, selling calls against your stock holdings is a way of temporarily reducing both volatility and risk. Doing so during a market meltdown can make it easier to stave off the very human impulse to abandon your positions.
Ultimately, it gives you a greater degree of control over just how much fluctuation you experience in your portfolio.
For heaven’s sake, clear your calendar for tonight and join us for an entertaining discussion on Covered Call basics. Join us tonight for our Covered Call webinar!
