Personal Development Checklist

Traders,

One of the most valuable habits you can develop is personal development.  Each day we have an opportunity to grow.  People who maintain success tend to have processes they have built into their lives.  Some of the things they do might seem like they come naturally.  Many of the best habits have to be shaped and formed over time just like anything else.

Here is a simple life-hack.  Set aside a block of time each day for personal development.  If you take 1 hour, and remove distractions like your smart phone, social media, and television, you can simply focus on yourself.  Within that hour, you can spend the time on any area of your life.  Here are some simple things that when done regularly, will produce growth.

  1. Read a book
  2. Meditate
  3. Go for a walk outside
  4. Write in a journal
  5. Take a power nap
  6. Have a conversation with someone important to you

Now, this is not a comprehensive list.  You can add anything into your hour of personal development that matters to you.  But these are time tested and they work.  A quick 15-minute walk per day does wonders for entrepreneurs.  Reading something – fiction or non-fiction – wakes up your brain and critical thinking skills.  And do not underestimate the power of a 20-minute nap, especially when you are stressed or tired.

Make it a goal to get a little bit better, each day.   Do not beat yourself up if you miss something, just make the effort to improve yourself.  Have a positive attitude and go after your goals.
