— Dave, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?
— No, not at all.
— I’ve wondered whether you might be hiding some second thoughts about the mission.
— What do you mean?
— Rumors about something being dug up on the moon. I never gave these stories much credence. But particularly in view of some of the other things that have happened, I find them difficult to put out of my mind.
This is an excerpt from a conversation between HAL 9000 and Dr. Dave Bowman on Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” movie.
But could as well be a conversation between you and your system.
You are starting to have some second thoughts about your mission. You’re trying to hide some things from your system. You want to bend some of its rules. You want to break a few others.
But your system knows too much. It has an intelligence of its own and started to spot some strange behaviors coming from you.
This mission is too important. Your system will not allow you to jeopardize it.
— This conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.
Chart of the Day: Distribution Analysis of a Cashflow System
Never try to predict the future, instead, think about it in terms of probabilities. A histogram like this (click on the image to enlarge it) can be developed from your trading system to give you an idea of how the future might turn out. A simple reading you can do: If most of your trades are gathered to the right side of the charts (after the 0.00% mark), you’re doing fine. Follow the rules and your future will look promising.
