≈ Learn how to avoid this trap. ≈
I’m a Pro member at Tackle Trading. I love the Scouting Reports they release every weekend but… but… but… well… you know…
I am still afraid of trading the picks. That’s it. Entry, stop, target, position sizing… all those numbers… What if I do it wrong? What if I lose money?
…
That’s the “Analysis Paralysis” trap, the Second Horseman of the Trading Apocalypse plaguing you.
Analysis paralysis is the state of over-analyzing a situation so that a decision or action is never taken. Most beginners fall into this trap. They over-analyze a position and never move on to further pull the trigger.
If you analyze a position too much, you’re probably feeling insecure and that could mean:
(1) you are not following the rules;
(2) you don’t have rules at all;
(3) you’re seeking the optimal or “perfect” solution upfront.
The result is clear: fear of making any decision which could lead to erroneous results. However, there is a sure-fire way to avoid the Second Horseman: follow the rules.
On our weekly Scouting Reports, we have the numbers. This week we are holding a special live event to talk about the rules: Swing Trading 101 webinar on February 27th, 8:30PM EST.
Instead of not making any decision or taking any action, take action now and register here for the event. Coach Matt will be there as your host to walk you through the Art of the Swing Trading.
That will be the end of the Second Horseman and the beginning of a new moment in your trading career. See you there!
Chart of the Day
Options Report pick, December 2018
Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) was one of our picks for the Options Report, back in December last year. The chart above depicts the setup. If you were plagued by the Second Horseman (the “Analysis Paralysis” trap), you would’ve starred at the chart and analyzed the numbers long enough so no action was ever taken. Traders who pulled the trigger following the rules made money. That’s the difference: they have followed the rules with confidence.
Register for the webinar here to gain more confidence and start a new moment in your trading career.

The Art of Swing Trading
One of the simplest ways to define what type of trader you are is by your time frame. Are you buying and holding for years, months, days, or minutes? In other words, what is the average duration of your positions? Long ago our trading forebearers laid out the classification for trader types. Here are the most popular categories with accompanying definitions.
