“Load up on guns, bring your friends”
The 2019 G20 Summit—the fourteenth of the series—, was held on June 28 and 29, 2019 in Osaka, Japan. The forum consists of 19 countries + the EU, which represents most of the world economy.
“It’s fun to lose and to pretend”
Last year, Coach Matt released a special report at Tackle regarding the 2018 G20 Summit in Argentina, which can be accessed HERE. Maybe the most interesting thing about the gathering of the heads of the 20 families was the dinner menu.
“Oh no, I know I dirty word”
The topics discussed this year were (try to guess): Global Economy, Trade and Investment, Innovation, Environment and Energy, Employment, Women’s empowerment, Development, and Health.
Really? I bet they had a whole new dinner menu to feast themselves while caring for their people.
“With the lights out, it’s less dangerous”
There was a time when the G20 needed the big media guys to cover the event, now they have Instagram to load up with selfies and a 2-paragraph description of their achievements. People seem to be loving it so far.
“I feel stupid and contagious”
After the 2018 Summit, the S&P 500 futures gaped up, just to epically tank in the following weeks. This year, we have a confluence of events pushing the chart to rip through its all-time high levels: end of Q2, half-way through 2019 and 20 leaders loving each other. It’s almost New Year’s Eve.
“Hello, hello, how low.”
Let’s give’em two weeks to see if they are going to be at each other’s throats again. Their idiosyncrasies and multilateral threatenings will rapidly recover after the food coma is over.
“Our little group has always been and always will until the end”
It is so good to see them together on the official family photo. It’s almost like I can hear Lennon’s’ Imagine playing in my head.
“A denial, a denial, a denial.”
