≈ In the middle of ‘World War +’ ≈
There is a story that goes around like this:
— Good morning, Mr. Antioco.
— Good morning, Mr. Hastings.
— Nice to meet you.
— A pleasure to meet you.
— Look, Mr. Antioco here’s my proposal, let me know what you think: From now on I will run your brand online and you will promote mine in your stores. Sounds fair?
— HAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAH!!!!
End of story.
The year was 2000. Reed Hastings was one of the founders of a newborn company called Netflix. John Antioco was the CEO of a well-established brand called Blockbuster.
Oh, the break of paradigms.
Fast-forwarding almost 20 years, now we are in the middle of the “World War +”. Seems that everyone now has the perfect solution to keep you at home staring at your TV set like a zombie. According to reports, Apple has committed to spending more than $6B on original TV shows and movies for its upcoming Apple TV+ service. Apple wants to beat Disney+ and both want to make Netflix the next Blockbuster.
You voted you got it: Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is the Stock of the Week on Tackle’s Instagram.

Tales of a Technician
The Pain and Pleasure of Lower Prices
I have fond memories of Black Friday as a teenager. Every year my mom and I would wake up in the wee hours of the morning and drive to the outlets for clothes shopping. Tommy Hilfiger was my brand of choice, and it was always the first store we visited. The weather was freezing, and yet the crowds were still massive. The lure of low prices overpowers humans’ desires for warmth and comfort.
