« The horror, the horror… »
Today we celebrate the horror in trading and investing. We all have scary moments to share. Horrible nightmares we can’t wake up from. Today, the world we see and know finally approaches the liminal stage, thinning the boundaries with the Otherworld.
If you stop to think about it for a second, the financial markets are a pool of horrific creatures:
Mutual funds with obscene fees
Plug & Pray trades were we kill winners and hold on to losers
Positions you pay to get it and pray to get out
Financial advice from hell
Specialized media
Analysts’ estimates
Negative yield bonds
Inflation
Quantitative easing
Fiat currencies
Market crashes
Penny stocks
Trade war
Black Swans
The uncertainty of the future
Crocs
Beyond Meat
The horror, the horror. The list is endless.
Father Guido recorded a video with some scary stories on financial advice and trading. Such a wise man who confronted the evil in trading many times. He is to trading what Father Lankester Merrin is for the movie “The Exorcist”.
Although horrifying, my story was pretty simple: I got this money and open a new account on another bank. I wanted to invest, make it grow. Then comes my new account manager, a hot blonde from hell who suggested I park my money on a mutual fund with high fees. She almost ended my marriage too. To complete the story I’ve learned she lived in the same street I did. I then started to silently pray during the meeting. It worked.
— ‘You can’t choose between life and death when we’re dealing with what is in between. Now tell her before it’s too late.’
— ‘Run to the light, baby. Mommy is in the light.’

The Momentum Tools
Good Day All, Last week we talked about the two different kinds of momentum, technical and psychological. We took a brief look at the technical side from the candlestick point of view and made mention of some indicators that can help us see changes in momentum. This week I want to dive a little deeper into the momentum indicators to see if we can get these to help us understand and flow better with the momentum of the markets.
