No Shortage of Fun and Fireworks!
Coach Mark here.
We are entering a very busy stretch over the next few weeks in the markets. Hundreds of S&P 500 companies will report earnings (along with thousands of other companies) and we have a Fed meeting next week amid anticipation of when the next cut might come. On top of that we have economic and inflationary data that will fuel narratives. There is no shortage of catalyst events in the coming weeks!
Sometimes there are events you can “navigate around.” That will be very hard to do the next couple of weeks. Just a short lineup of headline data the next few weeks include:
- Tuesday After the Bell: Google and Tesla report earnings
- Wednesday: PMI data
- Thursday: GDP data
- Friday: PCE Inflationary Report
- Next Tuesday: AMD and MSFT earnings
- Next Wednesday: Fed announcement and Powell Press Conference; META reports earnings
- Next Thursday: Apple and Amazon report earnings
- Next Friday: Monthly unemployment report
Quite the little stretch we have coming up, isn’t it? And that is not even counting seemingly endless other earnings and economic data.
I rather enjoy trading lately and I am looking forward to the next few weeks. These stretches provide opportunities, information, and can be a fun stretch for a trader. I am excited for the technical patterns that form and as a cash flow trader the opportunities that are presented daily.
Speaking of technical patterns, check out the Trading Justice podcast that my brother and I just released over the weekend. We breakdown the market action and discuss the technical patterns and opportunities we see in the market right now. You can watch that podcast here.
Have a fantastic start to your week!
Chart of the Day: NASDAQ 100 Futures (/NQ)
The Nasdaq attempted to rally this morning and found resistance at short-term falling moving averages. This is very common after a noticeable move down. These situations are generally eventually navigated by bulls but it can take a bit (or a catalyst) and watching intraday support levels form along the way can give us signs of potential bottoming action. We will break down these patterns daily on the Halftime Report this week.
