– “Number one rule of Wall Street. Nobody… and I don’t care if you’re Warren Buffett or if you’re Jimmy Buffett. Nobody knows if a stock is gonna go up, down, sideways or in f* circles. Least of all, stockbrokers, right? It’s all the fugazi. You know what a fugazi is?”
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) —
– “Fugayzi, it’s a fake.”
– “Yeah, fugayzi, fugazi. It’s a whazy. It’s a woozy. It’s fairy dust. It doesn’t exist. It’s never landed. It is no matter. It’s not on the elemental chart. It’s not f* real.”
This is one of my favourite scenes in modern cinema, a dialogue between Mark Hannah and Jordan Belfort, in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
This scene defines the entire movie from that moment on. Mark Hannah, the snake in the Garden of Eden, presents the apple to Jordan, introducing chaos inside his absolute order and naivety.
As traders and investors, we all face snakes, apples and uncertainty every single day. The fugazi is everywhere, temptations abound and, with Christmas approaching fast, there is also gluttony.
No one knows if one single tweet will blow the markets in 2020. Or the US Presidential Election result, or what Central Banks will do with their infinite knowledge, or if Italy is going full default over the EU. In the end, Mark Hannah is right: no one knows if the market is gonna go up, down, sideways or in circles.
That doesn’t mean you can’t do anything about it. That is why we are holding a special webinar tonight, led by Coach Noah Davidson. He will show participants that Tackle Trading has a little something for every market condition that 2020 may present you.
Mark on your calendar: tonight, December 18th, 2019 at 8:30PM EST.
