I really enjoy doing the Halftime Report with my brother Matt. Talking markets with a sharp mind is always an enjoyable experience for me and aside from the practical aspects of it (I believe it makes me a better trader and makes me money) I just downright enjoy it.

I very much enjoyed our conversation on gaps yesterday. We have dealing with earnings season the last few weeks and that means we have been dealing with a lot of gaps. A very common occurrence in earnings season and we have had monster gaps up (META take a bow) and massive gaps down (SNAP go hide in the corner today) and minor gaps up and down everywhere. Lots and lots of gaps.

Knowing your plan on how to play gaping situations and your rules associated with them is very important as a trader. Equally important is the ability to identify patterns that emerge after the cap. We discussed this on the Halftime Report yesterday with META how the controlled nature of the pullback after the gap was a very bullish sign.
