≈ The psychological thriller of the S&P 500. ≈
Yesterday marked 39 years since Sir Alfred Hitchcock has left the world of the living creatures to walk among those in the world of the deceased. Such an iconic figure with a particularly dark sense of humor, he pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres leaving mankind with an impeccable body of work. Thank you for your service, Sir. Much appreciated.
Also yesterday, as if it was honoring the death of the Master of Suspense, the S&P 500 (INDEX: SPX) hit the all-time high mark at 2949.52. We’ve been witnessing the downfall and rise of the S&P since October last year in a never-ending cycle of ups and downs in the midst of a constant tornado of misinformation. Now the psychological thriller is over, everything looks clear, the psycho was put behind bars, and the end credits can be screened.
Not at all.
Just like in Rear Window, Psycho, Rope, Vertigo or Dial M for Murder, the suspense is still killing and the climax hasn’t arrived yet. Breakout or Fakeout? Hold or capitulate?
