The V-Shape Recovery

2019 has marked the year of Jerome Powell creating V-shaped recoveries with simply opening his mouth. On January 4th Jerome shifted the general hawkish dialogue to a very dovish stance serving as the broad catalyst for the upward price movement we enjoyed at the start of the year. Last Tuesday Powell did it again. While not specifically mentioning rate cuts, Powell said the Fed was closely monitoring the impact of trade developments and would “act as appropriate.” So even if the trade war sends the market down, the market read that the Fed has the market’s back…again.
