Hello Trader,
Don’t look now but we are 12 days into November, the holidays are fast approaching and before we know it we’ll be gazing at the clock at 11:59 pm on Dec 31st waiting to shout “Happy New Year”! It seems like the days go by much faster when daylight saving time change happens and we fall back. For some of us, it feels like that extra hour of sleep is to prepare for the race to the end of the year as we look back at the goals we set in January and either we feel good, really bad, or encouraged by what we’ve been able to check off the list.
Our trading journey can feel the same way. At times we feel good or bad about our progress, and other times we are encouraged by the fact that we are not where we used to be, and we are not where we need to be but we are encouraged by the steps we are taking towards getting to our goals. Coach Greg held a webinar on YouTube about Investing for Beginners: Understanding Market Funds and it took me back to the first time I was introduced to the concept of Market Funds and how they work. It was at that moment that I realized just how ignorant I was to financial education, understanding the value of compounding gains, minimizing fund fees, and the idea of my money working for me. From that moment up to today, I’ve experienced the highs, lows, and everything in between of those emotions countless times! We all do! Figuring out what to invest in, the strategies that are the best fit for your portfolio and style of trading, how much to allocate to each trade, etc., etc., are all important questions and the truth of the matter is there is no one size fits all answer, however, there is one thing you can do which I’ll get to in a moment.
If the trading is still a new concept to you and you don’t feel comfortable analyzing individual stocks, going the ETF route might be the option for you. If you don’t know what an ETF is, I encourage you to watch the webinar on Understanding Market Funds. Maybe you are a bit advanced and you are familiar with the differences between EFT’s and Mutual Funds, that’s great! I’d wager to say that when you took that lesson on ETF’s, it was early on in your education journey, and sometimes it doesn’t hurt to go back and re-learn something because you probably missed a few things then that would make so much more sense now if you took another dive at it. If you fall in that category, still watch the Understanding Market Funds and for extra credit, How to Select and Trade ETFs was the feature on this week’s Coaches Show. If you are reading this blog and you are not a pro-member, there’s a link at the bottom for a 15-day free trial so can access the Coaches Show.
Ok, so what should you do if you find yourself spinning in circles, or maybe you want someone to look over your shoulder to make sure you are staying on track. Ask us! We are here to help. We have various levels of education available and the answer could be falling back to the basics or springing forward to another level like our one on one Coaching Program or joining the 3 Trading Labs we offer weekly. One of those labs, Dynasty Trading Lab is led by yours truly, you should check it out. Finally and certainly not least, if you just want to have a conversation to figure what you should be doing or not doing, set up a time to meet with us here for a one on one consultation with a coach.
In the meantime, it’s WIT night tonight! Come join me and the lovely ladies of #teamtackle as we analyze the markets and have a little bit of fun at the same time. Go time for the Women In Trading Mastermind Group 8:30 PM EST. See you there and invite a girlfriend or two.
Until next time!
