Hello Tackle Family! The first quarter of the trading year is behind us now and it sure went out with a bang! The second quarter is off to a shaky start as well. I guess we can officially say that volatility is back and it’s here to stay! With unemployment numbers slated to be announced on Friday and earnings season fast approaching, it will be interesting to see what comes about this month of April but clearly, we will not be seeing April showers or May flowers for that matter being that old man winter refuses to go away!
There is one thing to celebrate, however, this is the month that marks one year since the first ever Women In Trading blog was published on this wonderful platform we called Tackle Trading. Time surely does go fast when you’re having fun. We have truly enjoyed sharing our trading journey as well as the journey of our special contributors like Jessica. Of course, we’d like to thank you, our loyal tackle traders who take the time to read our blogs. We hope that you find the content helpful and if you are at all able to burst out an occasional loud chuckle at our attempt to humor you then we must be doing something right. As we all embark in this trading journey together, the reasons we got started may differ from the next and if asked to list your reasons in order of priority I doubt “ I started trading to make friends” would be on the top of the list. Yet when I look back now at my three years since I started trading, the relationships I have established with fellow traders along the way stand out more than the day Brexit happened or a trade that far exceeded my expectations. The amount of laughter that I have shared with my mentors, trading buddies and colleagues over something that is not at all related to trading is countless. These people have become family. We have shared meals, been to each other’s homes, and traveled together. It is just a blessing to be surrounded by like-minded people that you can do life with outside of the thing that brought you together and most importantly impact the lives of others. People like Bobby Shannon whom is traveling around the world and helping people along the way all while documenting it for us. By the way, if have not read or seen videos of Bobby’s journey you need to check out Environmental Hedging. I also love who these people are outside of trading because we are able to share ideas and help create businesses. It is like the United Nations of resources.
We all know trading can be quite a lonely gig since all we need is a Wi-Fi connection and a laptop it is easy to get lost in our own little world. So regardless of where you are in your trading journey, I hope that part of your routine includes getting together with some fellow traders to share a meal and laugh every now and then. If not for anything else, do it so you have a reason to wear something other than your pajamas. You know who you are. LOL! If you are new and longing for the day to be trading in and be in your pajamas all day, keep at it, that day will come and when it does, it most likely means you’ve replaced or supplemented another income so enjoy it! Also if you are new to Tackle check out our previous WIT blogs and all the other reports and blogs Tackle provides on a daily basis. Get in the clubhouse and engage with fellow Tackle members. You never know who you might be right in your backyard that you can connect with and create a great friendship. Until next time adios!
