    Fantastic guys,

    Soooo looking forward to this.
The books I’ve been enjoying recently are Audible & Scribd books as I have subscriptions to both of these. With Audible its great as I can listen and reviw in the car also.
I believe the first book title is actually “Start with Why”.

For the Richest man in Babylon Ive just found this on audible

With such busy lives (working a fulltime job, social aspects, exercising, hobbies, tackle trading, etc.) I cannot endorse audible enough. I can read 5X books I’d ever be able to manage to without it. You start adding the audio books to normally repetitive boring tasks. My favorites are commutes, laundry, mowing, cooking, and certain times during work. In my opinion why not learn during these repetitive tasks. It really makes accomplish more and be more efficient.

It is really ironic The Richest Man in Babylon is the book you guys choose for the first month because that was the first Book I got with Audible when I started my subscription (which I couldn’t recommend the book more).

Some of my favorites not on the list:

    Mindset:
Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill
7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey
    Millionaire Mind BY Thomas Stanley
The Magic of Thinking Big By David Schwartz

Interpersonal Relations (no point in being financially independent unless you have awesome friends and family to spend all your time with!):
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

    Economics:
How the Economy Grows and Why it Crashes by Peter Schiff

  8. DOUGCONNORS says:

Of the books listed, I would have to say my favorites are:
    • Think and Grow Rich: Napoleon Hill
    • How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
    • RichDad PoorDad: Robert Kiyosaki
    • 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey
    • Money Mastery: Tony Robbins
All are easy to read, interesting & provide an insightful perspective on slightly different topics.

    • Death of Money: James Rickards – I have read this but really am not impressed.

    • Atlas Shrugged: Ayn Rand is the most interesting in the economic category whereas Adams, Marx & Keyes are definitely a much tougher read.

My obvious weakness is the technical books since I have not read any of those listed, so I am looking forward to the discussion concerning those books.

I would also like to suggest Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink or The Tipping Point for an insightful perspective on how we think and how the market reacts based on events (without even talking specifically about the market). For those of you that like audio, I suggest Earl Nightingale’s Lead the Field. It’s a true classic much like Hill and Carnegie.

    Great idea guys!

Great idea! I also love Audible, and use it during commuting, and when doing mundane tasks. My son and I enjoy various books commuting to school and classes. The first “Richest Man in Babylon” in the list Justin provided is $2.73 (and less if you’re an Audible member), I don’t even have to use my credit for it! Am enjoying it right now.

  14. Sandeep Kaur says:

When is the book club podcast? Am I missing the dates?

  15. FrancesK says:

Sandeep, the book club is at theTrading Justice website.
    http://tradingjustice.com/category/podcast/

  16. FrancesK says:

I recommend this book. It’s on my list to read/listen.

“The Making of Modern Economics: The Lives and Ideas of the Great Thinkers”
by Mark Skousen. It introduces the history of major economics ideas in a readable fashion without too much technical details.
For anyone who is interested in learning more about the science of economics.

Just listened to him today and he’s an interesting, outspoken, and witty speaker. I expect his book will be similar.

  17. Teresa Christen says:

    Great, readable books

    Naked Economics:
    Undressing the Dismal Science
    By Wheelan, Charles J.

    He also wrote Naked Money.

  18. LukeBrueggemann says:

Awesome! I am looking forward to it! will try to make it to the live podcast!
