≈ Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? ≈
[…] you’d even rather have a failed real person than a successful one,
Nassim Taleb —
as blemishes, scars, and character flaws increase the distance
between a human and a ghost.
Real traders trade. They lose and make money. Once you have your own skin in the game no matter how much you cheer on the winners or cry over the losers, risk is risk and that’s what you trade.
How can you become a trader without trading? How can you manage a portfolio without building one? If you don’t click buttons you won’t buy nor sell anything. If you don’t buy or sell you won’t practice and if you don’t practice, you neither make nor lose money. You are a ghost and ghosts don’t carry scars.
We are already midway through February 2019 and I still catch myself thinking about the “7 Best Investments To Make In 2019” or “Where to invest $10,000 in 2019”, and similar stuff. It’s incredible how these ghosts from the top of a high rise can convince people to buy into this crap. It’s either guillotine or mediocrity, they just don’t know it yet.
Don’t tell me where I should put my money. Show me your portfolio instead. I’ll never trade my heroes for ghosts.
The top ten investments for 2019? Nah, I am still worried about what I am going to cook for my family tonight.
