Now, let’s talk about that impressive performance for just 1 second. When you’re looking at growth, growth is simply how much did something go up? Well, over the last five years, the Tackle 25 has outperformed the S&P 500 in four of the five years. And from a total growth perspective, the Tackle 25 is up 75%. The S&P500, that is up 65%. So the Tackle 25 has impressively outperformed solely from a growth perspective. 

But the power of the Tackle 25 is not necessarily in growth, it’s in cash flow. And so the covered call allows you to capture growth, but it also allows you to bring in cash flow that you can compound for compounding gains as well. 

The covered call is the cherry on top to the growth aspect of the market and very similar to how real estate investors will invest in a real estate property and then rent that property out to create cash flow. We’re going to do the exact same thing in the financial world. 

We’re just going to substitute that physical property for a stock. 

Step One in a covered call is you got to buy a stock. And there’s thousands of stocks, some of them good, some of them not, some of them great, some of them terrible.

The Tackle 25 is a carefully curated list of 25 amazing stocks that you can do covered calls on. But we don’t just take into account the covered call, we look at the fundamental value of a company as well, so that we are not putting companies that are ridiculously overvalued on the Tackle 25. 

You can invest in companies that you know are fundamentally strong, that you’re not paying absolute premium for.

Step Two in the covered call is to sell a call option or find your tenant. And so you find your tenant by selling a call option against the stock you own. What that allows you to do is cash flow. And in essence, the way I want you to think about it is you’re going to give up a little bit of the hypothetical growth to maximize your cash flow. If you could make a decision in the financial world to give up some growth to maximize cash flow, I think you would do that every day of the week and twice on Sunday. So in the covered call, that’s in essence what we are doing now.
