≈ Don’t Hate, Participate! ≈

I came across today’s Chart of the Day recently, and it reminded me of the wealth-building power of equities. As shown below, the global stock market’s value now tops $110 trillion. It’s the highest value in human history and speaks to just how wealthy stock owners have become. One of the biggest reasons why those in the top echelon have more money now than ever is because they own so much stock. It seems to me that at least one way to help narrow the wealth inequality gap is to get more people to participate in the stock market.

And not just participate, but do so correctly. In other words, rookies have to do more than chase equities at record highs. They have to stick with them through downturns. They say that stocks return to their rightful owners in bear markets. Presumably, this is because weak hands puke up their holdings only to watch from afar as prices eventually return to and surpass their previous peaks. Meanwhile, those with the wit as well as the will to stay the course during the turmoil go on to see their collective net worths grow to new heights.

Do yourself a favor and get involved. Some of that $110 trillion can be yours, you know.
