It is going to be a busy week in the market. No doubt. We have earnings season upon us and key economic reports all week long. The major markets enjoyed clean breakouts to end the week and the narratives and data that form this week will play a large roll in determining whether that breakout can be sustained. Busy week indeed.

Earnings season has started out poor. My brother Matt discussed this on the Trading Justice podcast released yesterday which can be listened to here. Netflix, Tesla, Intel are some of the major names reporting this week amongst a large cross-section of companies from every industry. We get more than a snapshot of earnings performance this week and it will be interesting to see what Matt says next week on the podcast and during the week on the Halftime Report as he reports earnings.

We also get key economic and inflationary data this week. Of particular interest in the Core PCE Price Index on Friday. Inflationary data has came in a little hot around the world lately and it is tough seeing the market hold a breakout if inflationary data does indeed continue to pick up. If it doesn’t….well that is a pretty significant catalyst for bulls making every inflationary report worth monitoring moving forward.

It is indeed going to be a busy week and earnings season always provides numerous potential opportunities. Be sure to check in each day for the Halftime Report as this is a week you want to be dialed in!
