Sometimes we like to overcomplicate things as market analysts. Sometimes we like to overcomplicate things as traders. Questions are rolling through the world of traders and investors centered around whether we will have a 4^th quarter rally. Will seasonality kick in once again and give the bulls some end-of-the-year cheer? These questions are seemingly on the tip of every trader’s tongue around the world.

Traders want the answer to that question (as if there could be a definitive absolute answer) as it would make their jobs easy. Push the chips in and wake up on January 1^st and reevaluate. Markets are rarely that easy.

Whether or not we have a 4^th quarter rally or not, I look at charts today and see actionable signals. Apple’s chart is a beautiful textbook break of a trendline. A gorgeous bullish cash flow signal and one that will get directional traders to also sit up in their seats. I look at charts in Consumer Staples and see some of the best cash flow patterns I have seen in a long time. I look at technology setups and see pretty patterns from both a directional and cash flow perspective all over the place. Will we have a 4^th quarter rally? I do not know. However, I know there are charts that I will act upon today as the chart patterns tell me to put a little money to work.

The big questions are fun to debate. Let the debate roll on…I have a few cash flow trades to place in the meantime.
