I rarely talk about the week ahead on a Friday. I usually save that for Monday morning as our community preps for the coming days. However, next week is going to be so insane with news that I thought I would get myself and others a little prepared ahead of time!

First, we have the biggest weekly of earnings with approximately 40% of the S&P 500 reporting next week. This includes GOOGL and MSFT on Tuesday, AAPL and AMZN on Thursday and META on Friday. That is a murderer’s row of important ticker symbols, isn’t it? You get MAG 7 names showing up in force along a massive cross section of companies from all sectors. We are going to have a very good idea of what the earnings results and themes are going to be after next week.

Next it is unemployment data week. The big on is on Friday with the non-farm payrolls but employment data will be coming in all week long. The current economic narrative is one of a soft landing and employment data can help set or upset this narrative for the coming weeks.

Also, next week is critical information from the U.S. Treasury in their Quarterly Refunding Announcement (QRA). What the heck is a QRA? The QRA is when the Treasury announces how much debt issuance there will be and where it will take place along the curve. On Monday we get the Treasury’s QRA overall financing number (how much money does it need) and on Wednesday the QRA Composition Release (what type of debt will be issued). All sound complicated? It is but these releases sparked a major rally in yields and the dollar last summer which impacted almost every other asset class along the way in the coming months. It was massive deal last year and worth monitoring.

Oh, and we have a Fed meeting and a Jerome Powell press conference on Wednesday right in the middle of it all!
