Tackle Today: The Art of Swing Trading

November 18, 2021

« Multi-day moves are the domain of the swing trader. »

Traders,

Investors come in all shapes and sizes. One way to categorize the masses is by their different hold times. As in, the average duration of their positions. Here are the five main styles with their respective trade lengths:

  • Scalper: seconds to minutes
  • Day Trader: minutes to hours
  • Swing Trader: days to weeks
  • Position Trader: weeks to months
  • Investors: years

Our S.T.E.P. Swing Trading System and weekly Scouting Reports focus on the art of swing trading.

When stock prices are trending, they rise and fall to create peaks and valleys. Usually, the swings last anywhere from 3 to 7 days or longer. A swing trader aims to jump in when the swing begins and bail near its end. It’s a more agile approach that offers sweet rewards if you can sync up with market movements.

To learn more about the craft of short-term trading, join our Swing Trading 101 webinar on Monday, November 22nd,  at 8:30 PM EST.
