“You must realize, you are enough. You are the one accountable. No one else answers to your life. There is no other better creator of wealth than you!”
Pearl Li —
At the beginning of a new learning path in trading/investing, the momentum always starts with your actions. There is no one else, but you to start this fire. You must put your desire to action. When you do this long enough with persistence, the momentum will happen. So, here are some examples of what you can do to better your community and your success.
You are enough
You must realize, you are enough. You are the one accountable. No one else answers to your life. There is no other better creator of wealth than you!
I still remember the weekends I spent by myself at the beginning where I would lock myself in my apartment for 10+ hours just to study. I was so energized by all the teachings, classes and practice, it would seem like a whole day would pass by from sunrise to sundown in a split second. There are weeks and months passed by like this that I felt fulfillment from learning.
Mentors
Stay in touch with your mentors. They will expand your horizon in ways that can’t be expected.
Being a good student through my education process with Legacy, I did not expect to know how my mentorship may grow and how that evolves into genuine friendship over time, but it did. They stayed with me because I was available to keep in touch with them. I wanted to share my ideas, thoughts, and interests with them. Whenever they invited me, I answered and met them.
Today, most of my Tackle Trading group in Seattle are referred by my mentors. I now have a great group of friends to generate trade ideas and talk about our life journey in all of this. I joined the Legacy team this year from my mentor’s referral as well. They understand my strengths to contribute back to their team and become part of this investing community as I grow. Just like every relationship, you have to reciprocate and allow yourself to be available to help others.
Intention
Set an intention to expand your life, not just make money.
Through trading, I started to sample other professional organizations in alternative asset management. Because I wanted a wider exposure, I networked in Seattle in this direction and met more informal mentors who took an interest in me. There is no agenda and I was intimidated in the beginning, but I kept showing up to stretch my horizon with a broader intention. Who knows what this can create, but it’s an intention for a longer-term future.
Negative People
Cut the negatives people out of your life. Keep the good ones!
In 3.5 years of learning how to trade, my social circle changed. I no longer deal with people I used to know who did not support me, even when they were once close family members. You have to realize you are moving on and they are not. My energy is better spent in a positive way. New friendships are forming and blossoming, why dwell on the bad ones?
Explore, experiment, enjoy
Explore, experiment and enjoy life’s surprises.
Too many people go through life way too confined. Explore what gives your joy outside of your usual routine, trading, and work. Being a trader is about being a better human and a happier self. Then you can fuel change, keep your motivation and compound your momentum bit by bit, day by day. Compounding wealth is no different than learning this positive momentum for yourself.

Your posts are so pertinent to my life…
“You have to realize you are moving on and they are not.”
How do you deal with family who still don’t believe in the potential within a trading lifestyle ?
What’s worse those who don’t believe in you ? Or just want the fruits of your hard work ?
