Tackle Today: Gold’s little brother, Silver

Do you trade or invest in Silver?

Traders,

Metals traders pay attention to many of the biggest instruments within their space.  Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium and Copper are amongst some of the most popular.

For new investors to the metals markets it is common to start with gold or gold mining companies.  But do not let yourself stop there.

It is common knowledge within the Tackle Trading community that Gold has been bullish for nearly two years now.  During that time, palladium also had a genuinely nice bullish run.  But silver did not catch the same kind of upward price appreciation and simply did not trend yet.

Could silver be setting up for a bullish trend?  If you read the Commodity Report or the Stock Report from over the weekend, you probably heard Coach Mark or Coach Greg talk about SLV and silver investing.  The current ranking for Silver within our weekly gridiron is at the 25-yard marker, which is slightly bullish.  As you look at the metal’s markets, you can see that Silver is up nearly 5% on the week and has made gains four weeks in a row. It is also up month over month four months in a row now.

When to get in will be dependent on your personal rules and trading plan, but if you are not watching this metal right now, you should add it to a watch list.  As silver approaches and tests some of these key resistance zones investors will be watching how price responds.  If a price breakout occurs it would be some of the highest prices, we’ve seen this metal at since 2016.

Keep an eye on Gold’s little brother, silver.  If you have never traded it, you can start by watching the exchange traded fund SLV.  There are silver mining stocks and other ETF’s to consider, but SLV is a commonly traded instrument.
