The Power of Mentorship: Grace Rankin

Mentors are a force in my life that I often refer to as the most vital piece of my success in all things. The dictionary definition of a mentor does not begin to cover the lifelong relationships that are built between those with passion and drive and those with the skills and experience to pass on. The mentors that I have sought out and been graced with in my life are those that can see my passion even if I’m out of processing room upstairs for the day and have lost the ability for basic algebra. They tell me things like don’t try to do anything tonight, just eat, sleep, and we’ll start back tomorrow; knowing that I will attempt to study and fire myself before too long because I have nodded off again. They are the people that share in my aha moments and reach out when I am completely lost to remind me that no really, I am exactly where I am supposed to be. They so often come into our lives when we choose to stand in the courage of what is true for us, and let go of external definitions.

I have the spent the last three days feeling completely out of my league, like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, and wishing I hadn’t been such a consumer with the money I swore to put into my financial education two years ago all at the same time. However, this is where my financial freedom starts. This is where I build from so that when I graduate with my MBA in 2017 instead of hustling for a hiring letter to barely make the bills, I will have the privilege of hustling for the things that bring me the greatest fulfillment. The intangible, time intensive experiences that make this world a better place, and a lifelong ability to give back in ways that I have only ever seen in dreams. My relationship with money has been fundamentally altered and I think I might even understand from a technical stand point Trace’s “it’s just money, I always make more” as well as mindset that goes with it. In mentoring with Matt, I not only have Matt in my corner, but I have Tim, Noah, Gino (I know you have no idea who I am, ask Matt or Garrett), Trace, Bobby, Beau, and more to come that will never allow me to play small. The money spent for these three days opened the door to a community, a lifestyle, and a gift that is too important to keep to myself.

Whatever you have to do to get yourself here, do that. As someone whose entire family knows nothing about this journey, whose father thinks the money for mentorship is sitting in an account waiting for the day I graduate, whose friends still have no idea what I’m doing up here I have one question for you. What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Great sharing Grace! The emotional, almost spiritual parts of us that a mentor can identify and relate to – help us stay strong and focused on our dreams.

    Thank you Grace.

I have to concur, Grace. I’m being mentored by Micah and I couldn’t feel more confident that his guidance will see me through these early stages of success-building. It is also reassuring that I can pop questions to Tim, Noah, Matt and Gino in the various forums when I have questions that are in their respective areas of expertise. What a great process!!

Tyler Craig has been an excellent mentor to me, challenging me to think about my trading plan and goals. It has been helping tremendously.

Very well put Grace. I just finished a mentorship with Micah Brooks. I was so enlightening I would strongly suggest that anyone involved with trading or investing take a mentorship with one of the tt team. You cannot afford not to. Amazes me that people can lose $3000 or more in their acct and merely assume its part of investing when for the same money or less you can get some serious mentoring. It is probably a better deal than the majority of classes you would pay more for. Do a ROI assessment on that….you’ll be far better off. Trust those of us who have done so.

Add to that the mentors on this site and you can’t lose..IF you follow their advice.
